We got engaged!

Amy and I got engaged this weekend here in San Francisco. I asked her to marry me (and she accepted) and Huntington Park atop Nob Hill. I asked her mom, dad, and sister to come out and celebrate the weekend (which was a surprise to Amy), so the mood of the weekend was very family-oriented and lots of fun.

After she fit the ring on her finger and said yes, we went to lunch, checked into our room at the fabulous Huntington Hotel on Nob Hill, and spent the day taking in the city. We had a fabulous dinner -- one of the best dinners I can recall having -- at Asia de Cuba, the restaurant in the Clift Hotel. The next morning the five of us were joined by my cousin, my brother, and his girlfriend at the Top of the Mark Restaurant in the Mark Hopkins hotel. That night, we went to Sunday Night Baseball at Pac Bell Park and watched the Giants lose a close 4-3 game to St. Louis. Noah Lowry pitched a gem except for a second-inning meltdown, and struck out Albert Pujols, Jim Edmonts, and Larry Walker (twice).

After the difficult week we had because of the car getting stolen, this was a great pick-me-up and a fun time for me and Amy. Next up -- planning!!!
